U-KISS, once a prominent boy band in the K-pop industry, is preparing for a highly anticipated comeback to commemorate their 15th anniversary.
Their agency, Tango Music, announced on Monday that U-KISS will return as a six-member group.
“To celebrate their 15th anniversary, U-KISS will make a comeback as a six-member group, led by members Soohyun, Hoon, and Kiseob,” stated the agency. They further expressed their full support for the group, ensuring they will deliver a memorable experience for the fans who have patiently awaited their return.
This comeback marks U-KISS’ first activity since the release of their single “Ready For You” in December 2017.
Tango Music revealed that U-KISS’ 15th-anniversary project extends beyond the group comeback. Members Hoon and Soohyun will each release a digital single in May, followed by a group album in June. Additionally, the group has plans to hold concerts in Japan in July.
U-KISS debuted in 2008 with the EP “New Generation.” They gained popularity in 2009 with their mega-hit single “Man Man Ha Ni,” and continued to release successful tracks such as “Bingle Bingle” and “Shut Up.” In 2011, the group made their Japanese debut with the single “Tick Tack” and subsequently released eight full-length albums and numerous singles in Japan.
The upcoming July concerts will mark a long-awaited reunion with U-KISS’ Japanese fanbase. Two concerts have already been confirmed, with performances at Zepp Haneda in Tokyo on July 28 and Zepp Namba in Osaka on July 30.
Presently, U-KISS consists of three members, Soohyun, Hoon, and Kiseob, who are under Tango Music. The agency has added three former members to reunite the original six-piece lineup for the highly anticipated comeback, but their identities have not yet been revealed.
Tango Music concluded by stating that the group is in the final stages of album production, heightening excitement among fans for U-KISS’ long-awaited return.
