BTS’ Suga, known for his solo work under the alias Agust D, has once again asserted his musical dominance with his latest solo album titled “D-Day,” captivating the Japanese music scene. The album’s tracks have made an impressive impact on Japan’s renowned Oricon charts, solidifying Suga’s position as a formidable solo artist. Within a day of its release, “D-Day” secured the top spot on Oricon’s daily album ranking, with over 110,000 copies sold in Japan alone. Additionally, the album’s title track, “Haegeum,” climbed to an impressive No. 3 on Oricon’s daily digital singles ranking, while the album’s B-side tracks also claimed positions within the top 20.
The success of “D-Day” extends far beyond Japan’s borders, as the title song quickly ascended to the top of iTunes’ charts in over 90 countries around the world. Notably, the official music video, uploaded on the Hybe Labels channel under Big Hit Music, achieved the remarkable milestone of 10 million views in less than a day. In Suga’s home country of Korea, “D-Day” shattered records by accumulating 1.07 million copies in sales on its first day, according to data from Hanteo Chart. This surpasses the previous record set by Suga’s fellow BTS member, Jimin, with his solo album “Face,” which had sold 1.02 million copies on its initial day.
Having embarked on his solo career in 2016 with his debut mixtape “Agust D,” Suga has continuously demonstrated his musical prowess as both a singer and a producer. With two full-length mixtapes under his belt, he has collaborated with numerous artists from both domestic and international music scenes. “D-Day” marks Suga’s highly anticipated return after three years since the release of his second mixtape series, “D-2,” in May 2020. The album serves as the final installment of Suga’s musical trilogy, which encompasses his two mixtapes.
Taking creative control, Suga bares his soul through the ten tracks of “D-Day,” showcasing his prowess as a composer and lyricist. The album conveys a message of “liberation,” with Suga fearlessly sharing his personal stories. Prior to the album’s release, Suga unveiled a collaborative single with IU titled “People Pt. 2.”

Starting with shows at Belmont Park in New York on April 26-27, he will travel across the United States and continue the series with performances in Asia in the upcoming months.
