Ador, the renowned South Korean entertainment label that introduced us to the sensational girl group NewJeans, is expanding its horizons by venturing into the world of boy bands. The label recently unveiled plans for a global audition process titled “2023 Ador Global Audition – The Real Hype Boys,” with the aim of discovering members for their upcoming boy band project.
Unlike conventional K-pop label auditions that focus primarily on musical abilities such as singing, dancing, and rapping, Ador has taken a refreshing approach to this audition. The label has intentionally avoided predefined categories and is actively seeking fresh and distinctive talents that can bring something new and exciting to the industry. Applicants are encouraged to showcase any skill or talent they possess, whether it’s beatboxing, acrobatics, or any other exceptional ability that can captivate the judges.
The audition process is open to male individuals or teams born between 2004 and 2012. Interested applicants can submit their applications starting from 1 p.m. on Tuesday until April 13. Those who successfully pass the initial online audition will be invited to participate in the second round, which will be conducted in person. The in-person auditions are scheduled to take place in 12 cities across South Korea and an additional 14 cities in seven countries around the world, including Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Ador operates under the umbrella of Hybe, a prominent multilabel entertainment company that houses industry powerhouses such as Big Hit Music, the label behind global K-pop phenomenon BTS, and Pledis Entertainment, home to renowned K-pop groups Seventeen and fromis_9. Backed by such a strong and influential parent company, the forthcoming boy band from Ador is poised for a bright future.
Ador gained recognition for launching the highly successful rookie group NewJeans, who made their debut in July with the phenomenal EP, “New Jeans.” The five-member girl group has been making a significant impact in the K-pop industry with their distinct sound and style, garnering a devoted fan base eagerly anticipating their future releases.
The introduction of the “2023 Ador Global Audition – The Real Hype Boys” further solidifies Ador’s standing as a formidable presence in the competitive K-pop landscape. By prioritizing fresh and unique talent, the label is poised to shape a boy band that will undoubtedly make waves and leave a lasting impression on the global music scene.
