Georgia Barnes, known mononymously as Georgia, is an English record producer, songwriter, singer, rapper, and drummer. She began her music career as a drummer, collaborating with artists like Kwes and Kae Tempest. Later, she transitioned into a singer and record producer, releasing her debut studio album “Georgia” in 2015. Her musical journey reached new heights with the release of her second studio album, “Seeking Thrills,” in 2020, which earned her a spot on the shortlist for the prestigious Mercury Prize. Subsequently, she released her third studio album, “Euphoric,” in 2023.
Born and raised in London, Georgia’s musical roots can be traced back to her father, Neil Barnes, a co-founder and keyboardist of the renowned English electronic music group Leftfield. Before embarking on her musical path, she showcased her talent in football, participating in youth squads associated with Queens Park Rangers W.F.C. and Arsenal W.F.C. However, her focus shifted to music after the passing of her coach, prompting her to pursue a career in drumming, which led her to attend the prestigious BRIT School in Croydon.
